Gigs galore!

Hello to all,

We're coming to the end of an extremely busy November. Make sure you check us out at the American Club on December 6th, and there is also the possibility of another BAGHA outing in the later half of the month. Our Friday commitment at Heritage will resume later this November.

The BHC show on the 23rd November (incorrectly printed as 22 November below) was a great night out, and we had the pleasure of jamming onstage with bassist/guitarist Ron Azad; thanks Ron!

Great evening had by all at the BHC - over 200 guests. And we've been booked for another gig there on the 22nd Nov. Here's a new perspective on us. No, the photographer wasn't drunk - just forgot to turn on the flash.

October 4th at the British High Commission Club

Our next venue has been confirmed: The British High Commission Club in Baridhara on the 4th of October. All expat club card holders welcome, free entry, happy hour from 19:30 till 21:30, music from 20:00 till...who knows when?? It's going to be a good one; make sure you're there!

Another superlative evening awaits for the sophisticates who are BlueNote fans - a candlelight dinner at the BAGHA. About to propose to someone? To get divorced? To propose a business partnership? Let BlueNote create the atmosphere/ease the pain/pave the way (delete as applicable)

We were featured on Radio Foorti this evening, talking in a 15-minute interview with RJ Fuad about our link to this campaign, as well as the presence of jazz for the first time in Dhaka. All good publicity, and such a stunning pic too...

Busy week

On the road every night. Wednesday night we played at a farewell do for the US Ambassador, Patricia Butenis. Thursday was a big private party for the chairman of ICDDRB on a rooftop overlooking the city, and Friday has us back at the Nordic Club for another collaboration with Future Shorts - doubling as a fundraiser for the BNWLA Hostel Appeal. Ah, the rock'n'roll life..

Monsoon Music

Last night's gig was a private party to celebrate the launch of Monsoonletters.com, a forum for young Bangladeshis writing in English, in the fabulous home of Rubana.

We talked to Daniel, a producer at Radio Foorti, about working with them to publicise our BNWLA Hostel Appeal. More on this soon.

Another one down in this incredibly busy month. Full house again at Spaghetti Jazz in Gulshan. We were joined for a couple of songs by the excellent Laila, who is going to sing with us on the 20th at the International Club Barbecue. BlueNote Live at the German Club

Played the GC last night. VERY hot and sweltering May evening. Perhaps outside concerts in June are best suited to Norway? But a great crowd. We'll be back later in the year.

BlueNote Live at PM Lounge

Great gig last Thursday in this hip venue, five floors up above the city. Capacity crowd too. We may well be looking at a regular monthly show here. Will keep you posted. Thanks to Kashfi for the pic.

Jazz'n'Film

Last night was the first collaboration between BlueNote and Future Shorts: an evening of short films and jazz at the Nordic Club. Great atmosphere, candlelight, and some excellent films, not to mention of course the superb music. We're likely to be doing one of these evenings a month now, with all proceeds going to BNWLA.
